Abstract

995,201. Photopolymerizable materials. E. I. DU PONT DE NEMOURS & CO. Jan. 23, 1962 [Feb. 2, 1961], No. 40762/64. Divided out of 995, 199. Heading G2C. A photopolymerizable element comprises a support carrying (1) a layer of a silver salt in a water-permable binder and (2) a layer containing an ethylenically unsaturated compound with a boiling point above 80‹C. and an organic polymer as a binder in a ratio of 3 to 97 and 97 to 3 parts by weight; the layers being coated in either order. Alternatively the ethylenically unsaturated compound may act as the binder. A peroxy compound such as a persulphate may be present in either layer and the element may be used in the silver image transfer processes of Specification 995,199. Specification 907,948 also is referred to.
