Abstract
995,140. Superconductor circuits. INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS MACHINES CORPORATION. Nov. 15, 1961, No. 40817/61. Drawings to Specification. Heading H3B. [Also in Division H1] In a superconductive, bi-stable, switching device, each crystron comprising a thin film gate conductor and control conductors, it is shown that the time constant L/R is dependent on the penetration depth of the magnetic field produced by the control current, which is itself dependent on the thickness of the film. The optimum value of time constant is obtainable from a family of curves relating time constant and thickness of gate conductor for materials of different restivity. Specifications 862,178 and 941,427 are referred to.
