Abstract
994,832. Toys. G. M. BEEDELL. March 15, 1963 [March 16, 1962], No. 10160/62. Heading A6S. [Also in Division H4] The steering of a mobile toy is controlled within an area defined by an inductive loop. The loop is fed by a hand-held transistor oscillator providing a choice of three frequencies and the toy, Figs. 2 and 4, is provided with two driving motors M1, M2 operated by a battery BB carried by the vehicle. Tuned pick-up coils L1, L2 respond respectively to frequencies either side of a central frequency and respond equally to the central frequency so that in this case the vehicle runs in a straight line. The signals picked up are rectified by transistor T11 and amplified by transistors T12, T13 to control the respective motors M1, M2. The control loop may be in the form of a number of independent sections each controlled by a separate oscillator so that a number of toys in the same area may be controlled.
