Abstract

993,216. Valve-discharge; water-wastepreventers. C. BEGARD, and R. FERNANDEZ. Jan. 18, 1963 [Jan. 25, 1962; Dec. 6, 1962], No. 2316/63. Heading E1C. A flat valve 3 of a flushing device normally closing a discharged duct 1 and raised by means of a control rod 10 comprises an internal guide device consisting of a duct 11, closed at the top (Fig. 3a) and slidable on a guide rod 12, fixed along the axis of the duct 1 to the latter. The rod 12 carries a cap 13 forming a stop against a ring 14 in the lower part of the float 3 to prevent separation of the duct 11 and the rod 12. The rod 10 is connected to the float 3 by an articulation formed of an auxiliary rod 15 engaging a ring 17 and having an adjustable cap 18 below which the hooked end 19 of a rod 10 engages around the rod 15, as shown. Projecting outside the duct 1 and connecting it to the cistern are detachable lugs 26 (Fig. 4) which can be fitted on the duct 1 to clamp it against the bottom around an orifice. The lugs 26 engage on internal peripheral internally-screwthreaded supports 25 in the duct 1, on each of which a sleeve 29 integral with the lug 26 engages to be traversed by a screw 27 engaging in the support 25. The supports 25 may be circular or hexagonal in section and may be fixed to the ends of a bar 24 or on shoulders on the internal periphery of the duct 1. The end of the duct 1 has projecting parts 28 to form centring stops in the orifice, which may be opposite the supports 25 and/or between them. In a modification the duct 1 is screwed into the orifice and held there by a washer and flanged ring.
