In a distributer for granular and like materials in which the forward edge of a hopper is used as a gauge for varying the rate of delivery, a sieve 11 is incorporated so as to constitute a bracing member for the hopper. The sieve is centrally disposed of the hopper opening and is attached to the front and rear walls of the hopper. In a modification the sieve may consist of a frame arranged to carry a sieve element which would be attached by screws or turn-buttons. Specification 887,627 is referred to.
