993,025. Sealing strips. VAUXHALL MOTORS Ltd. April 4, 1963 [April 12, 1962], No. 14150/62. Heading E1J. A resilient seal strip 5, particularly for a vehicle door comprising inner and outer panels 2, 3 secured together by welded flanges, comprises a flap 10 of sponge rubber on a base 9 of hard rubber having spaced circular or rectangular depressions fitting over corresponding projections 6 on the inner door flange, the mating depressions and projections having a central hole receiving an expansible or pressfit fastener 8, e.g. of nylon. The projections 6 are formed by making depressions in the outer face of the inner flange 2A. The spacing of the depressions in the strip 5 is less than that of the projections 6 so that the strip 5 is stretched during fitting.
