Abstract
A mixture which is curable to form a semi-conducting polyester resin composition comprises finely-divided crystalline carbon, an isophthalic or a bis-phenol unsaturated polyester, and a liquid monomer copolymerizable with, and able to dissolve, the polyester. Isophthalic polyesters are generally prepared from ethylene and/or propylene glycol, isophthalic acid and maleic anhydride or fumaric acid, and bis-phenol polyesters are generally prepared from an alkylated bis-phenol and dicarboxylic acid material including fumaric acid and/or maleic anhydride. The preferred liquid monomers are styrene and vinyl toluene. The crystalline carbon is preferably natural or synthetic crushed graphite, a major portion being of less than 200 B.S. mesh. The carbon content of the total mixture may be 25 to 35%. The mixture is cured in the conventional manner.
