Abstract

A reactive resin composition comprises an unsaturated polyester resin, a cross-linking agent adapted to react with the polyester in the presence of a catalyst and/or accelerator, and containing also said catalyst and/or accelerator, wherein said catalyst and/or accelerator is or are encapsulated in an envelope of inert material to prevent initiation of the reaction of polyester with cross-linking agent until such time as the capsules are broken to release the catalyst and/or accelerator into the mixture. The encapsulating materials mentioned are gelatin and polyvinyl alcohol. The capsules may be broken by heating the mixture or by rupturing by application of pressure.
