Abstract
In a polymerisable moulding compsn. which hardens by action of a chemical catalyst and which contains a number of components, is not 1 of the components needed for complete polymsn. is dispersed through the compsn. and sepd. temporarily from the other components by enclosure in breakable capsules. The compsn. has unlimited storage life. The prodn. of articles by filling the compsn. into a mould and breaking the capsules during or after the filling of the mould, by increasing the press. on the capsules, is claimed. Pref. the catalyst is encapsulated. Alternatively, the catalyst and the accelerator may be encapsulated separately, and all or a part of the filler may be incorporated in, or applied onto the walls of, the capsules. A solid polyester may form a sec. protective layer on the micro-capsules. The moulding compsn. may be a paste or a dry granular material.
