Apparatus for determining seepage through the bed 5 of a reservoir comprises a chamber defined by a member 1 and a flexible membrane 8 and having a lip 4 which can be pressed in bed 5. Liquid is fed to the chamber through a passage 12 and, due to membrane 8, is subjected to the pressure head in the reservoir. The volume of liquid supplied via passage 12 which seeps through bed 5 in a given time is a measure of the rate of seepage. The seepage to particular places, e.g. wells, may be determined by including a tell-tale in the liquid supplied by passage 12. A detachable handle 10 and a float connected by a chain or cord 15 may be provided for insertion and removal of the apparatus in a reservoir.
