Abstract

1314276 Pneumatic gauges ZELLWEGER Ltd 30 July 1970 [25 Nov 1969] 36828/70 Addition to 1137297 Heading G1M In a modification of the method of Specification No 1137297, the cross-section of a textile material 2 is measured by passing it through a nozzle 1 which decreases in cross-section and measuring the pressure generated in the nozzle, pressure surges being introduced into the measuring line 8 connecting the nozzle with a manometer to clear deposits out of channel 6. A valve 11 may be provided to admit the pressure surges and a valve 13 to isolate the manometer 9 from the surges. The pressure surges may be provided by a piston-cylinder arrangement, Fig. 4 (not shown).
