A switch point for a conveyer in which load carriers 12 are supported by rollers running on, and retained against lateral displacement from, the upper surface of a elevated rail comprises at one end of the point a singleended back section 14 and at the other end a group including a plurality of laterally spaced mutually divergent end back sections 20, 21 and an intermediate back section pivotally connected to the single end back section 14 so as to be able to be alignable selectively with any one of the group of end back sections 20, 21, the intermediate back section 22 having a spring- loaded retaining bolt 37 to hold the section in any one of its positions of alignment and a biasing spring 43 to displace the section automatically to one of its aligned positions should it be inadvertently set in a non-alignable position with respect both back sections 20, 21.
