Abstract
989,610. Control of heat treatment furnaces. FUCHS G.m.b.H. March 31, 1964, No. 13214/64. Heading F4B. In a heat treatment furnace of the air-circulating type, the direction of air circulation is reversed by alternate operation of fans 5a and 5b at each end of the furnace, the alternate operation being effected by signals generated by a control unit 8 and relayed to motors 6a and 6b which drive the fans 5a and 5b respectively, the control unit 8 being preset to operate when the temperature difference between the ends of the furnace, measured by resistance thermometers 9a and 9b, reaches a predetermined value. A regulator 11 controls heating elements 3 by means of thermocouples 12a and 12b measuring absolute air temperature at the furnace ends, and is arranged such that the control unit 8 connects that thermocouple at the entry end of the air, at each change-over.
