Abstract

989,473. Lids for containers. G. & E. EQUIPMENT & CONTRACTS Ltd. April 3, 1964 [April 22, 1963], No. 15757/63. Heading A4A. A lid 1 for a container, e.g. a dustbin, is made of a flexible synthetic plastic and comprises a cover portion 2 and a skirt 3, inwardly projecting fins 4 on the skirt engaging the rim of the container and being free to flex towards the skirt to accommodate containers of different sizes. The equispaced fins are spaced from the cover at 9, are moulded at an angle to the radial direction and have a groove 5 and chamfer at 6 to fit and engage easily over the rim 7 of the container.
