Abstract

A device for false-twisting and moistening a roving comprises rotary members rotatable in the same sense and spaced apart at their peripheries by an amount sufficient to allow the roving to pass there between and in frictional i.e. twisting, engagement therewith. The peripheral surfaces are of porous material through which liquid e.g. water or oil and water, is centrifugally forced from an adjustably supplied reservoir and radial channels within each member. Needle valves controlling the supply to the reservoirs of a series of pairs of rotating members are actuated by cams carried on a single shaft.
