Heading D1E A weft inserter 1 mounted on a perforated duel tape 2a, 2b, which runs in guides 5, 6, and is driven by a toothed wheel 4 is provided with means to prevent the wheel 4 lifting the tape in the meshing zone. Fig. 3 shows the inserter 1 cut away in the meshing zone so that it it runs on one side only of the wheel 4, the tape being held down by a plate 9; Fig. 6 shows two holding down plates 9, 9<SP>1</SP>, the inserter 1 being recessed underneath and riveted to the tape between the perforations and the Specification states the plate(s) 9 may be replaced by rollers.
