[Also in Division G3] A control system for a steam turbine 23 fed through a control valve 13 and quick-acting cut-off valve 27 from a steam generator 12 of boiling-water reactor type comprises servopistons 20, 28 for the valves 13, 27, a servopiston 24 for actuating a valve 14 which by-passes steam to an injection cooler 29 and condenser 30, a valve actuated by a governor 22 for controlling the servopiston 20 and for applying a signal to the upper side of a piston 18 which actuates a valve controlling the servopiston 24, and a valve actuated by a bellows 16 responsive to steam pressure and controlling the servopiston 20 and, through a spring 17, influencing the valve that controls the servopiston 24. A by-pass control 26 and a starting control 25 are adjustable by remotely controlled motors M to control the servopistons 24, 20 independently of each other before the working pressure of the system has been reached. If the installation is started up with the controls 25, 26 closed the turbine valve 13 does not open until the working pressure has been reached to open the valve operated by the bellows 16. Thereafter,. the turbine valve 13 is controlled by the governor 22 which also controls the valve 14 through the piston 18 in such a manner that when the valve 13 is moved towards closure due, e.g., to decreased load on the turbine, the opening of the by-pass valve 14 is increased. The by-pass valve is also opened in response to operation of the control 31 of the quick-acting cut-off valve 27. Any tendency for the steam pressure to exceed its working value causes the bellows 16 to open the by-pass valve 14. The control valves for the servopistons are connected downstream of restrictions 32, 33, 34, 35 in conduits supplied from a pressure source pi v , and control discharge to outlets O. The governor 22 and bellows 16 are adjustable by remotely controlled electric motors M. The pressure that actuates the servopiston 24 may also control the reactor.
