987,126. Pipe couplings. SKELLEFTEA GUMMIFABRIKS A.B. April 16, 1962 [April 14, 1961], No. 14687/62. Heading F2G. A coupling for rubber or plastic lined hoses 1 or pipes 2 comprises metal flange rings 5, 6 having wedge surfaces 10 co-operating with a coupling means 3, the inner and outer diameters of the flange rings and lining 4 respectively being substantially equal and the linings projecting beyond the outer faces of the flange rings to effect a but joint seal 8. The flange rings in the case of a hose 1 are clamped between the lining 4 and a reinforcement or the like and in the case of the pipe are attached by welding at 7. A packing ring 9 may be introduced between the flanges 5, 6. Specification 554,512 and U.S.A. Specification 2,408,960 are referred to.
