Abstract

A composite product comprises from 10-90% by weight bagasse pith and from 10-90% by weight of a cellulosic fibrous material. The fibrous material may be digested bagasse fibre, Phragmites Communis or wood pulp, or reclaimed newsprint, boxes or kraft fibre. The product may take the form of a transplanter pot and include also Spanish moss, a fungicide and a synthetic resin binder.ALSO:A transplanter pot is formed of a material comprising bagasse pith and a cellulosic fibrous material. A fungicide and a synthetic resin to increase the wet strength of the pot may also be included.
