985,377. Conveyer chains. FISHER & LUDLOW Ltd. Jan. 6, 1964 [Jan. 16, 1963], No. 1923/63. Heading B8A. In a conveyer chain of the form shown in Fig. 1, the crossed pivot-pins at each joint are retained in a connecting member consisting of two U-shaped elements, each of which receives one of the pins in its bend. One such element 11, is a plate with two D-shaped apertures 14 bent into U-form (Fig. 6) with the apertures 14 then in alignment (Fig. 5). The other element 15, is then fitted into the aperture 14 (see Fig. 3), and retained by pins 17 fitted in apertures in the element 15 adjacent the outer faces of the limbs of element 11. The pins in the bevels of the two U-shaped elements are fixed to link plates which in each case are directed away from the free ends of the corresponding U. Washers 21 are fitted on the pins between the edges of the U-shaped elements and the inner faces of the link plates. Specification 639,244 is referred to.
