Abstract

984,250. Moulding articles incorporating printing &c. AVISUN CORPORATION. June 1, 1962 [Jan. 8, 1962], No. 21270/62. Heading B5A. A method of moulding plastic articles in which a film 11 (3 to 11 mils. thick), is printed with a heat-resisting ink on one side and is made to adhere to a wall of a mould 17 by creating a static charge on the unprinted side of the film. A molten material of similar chemical and physical properties as the film is injected into the mould. This fuses the exposed surfaces of the film which blend with the injected material without blurring the printing. The material is cooled inside the mould, then released.
