Abstract

984,086. Casting-machines. GLASSKLAD Ltd. Dec. 11, 1963 [Oct. 3,1962], No. 37455/62. Heading B3F. Apparatus for pouring metal into successive moulds of an automatic casting-machine comprises a ladle G which is alternately lowered into and lifted from a reservoir A of the molten metal in timed relation with arrival of the moulds at a filling station, said ladle having an aperture P through which metal can enter and escape at a predetermined rate and means V for positively effecting a complete or partial emptying of the ladle at each lifting movement thereof. The moulds may be mounted on a rotating table and the ladle support D is raised and lowered by a mechanism linked to the mould table indexing mechanism. The ladle discharges into the moulds by way of a heated shoot C.
