Abstract

984,063. Toy vehicles. METTOY CO. Ltd. Feb. 12, 1964 [Feb. 14, 1963; Dec. 9, 1963], Nos. 6006/63 and 48471/63. Heading A6S. A toy motor vehicle has means operable from outside the body to move the back rest of a seat so as to form an extension of the floor of the luggage space. In one embodiment, the seat 13 and the back 14 may be swung about axes 16 from the positions shown dotted in Fig. 1 to the positions shown in Fig. 3 by means of gears 17, 18 and 19, under finger tip control of gear 18. The ratio of the gears 17, 18 is so chosen that seat 13 moves through the larger angle of rotation necessary over that of back 14. The second embodiment involves a movable back 14 only, which may be moved from the position shown in Fig. 4 to the down position shown in Fig. 6 by pressing the wheel 4 upwardly until it is in frictional engagement with a wheel 36 on the axis of movement of the back 14, and then rotating the wheel 4 clockwise as viewed in the said Figures.
