Abstract

<PICT:0983944/C6-C7/1> An installation for the continuous heat-treatment of metal articles consists of two furnaces disposed one within the other, the outer acting as a pre-heating furnace through which the articles to be treated are moved by a conveyer which then proceeds through the inner furnace where the articles are heated to the desired treatment temperature. As shown in plan view in Fig. 1, aluminium tubes 10 are carried by conveyer 7 through outer furnace 1 and then through inner tunnel furnace 5. Specification 899,740 is referred to.
