982,984. Web coating apparatus. KELVIN & HUGHES Ltd. July 24, 1962 [May 2, 1961], No. 15872/61. Heading D1L. [Also in Division G2] Coating apparatus comprises two jets so arranged that the two sprays mix and cover the same area of web simultaneously. As shown, web 11 is advanced intermittently past station 15 which contains two jets 22a supplied with two liquids from reservoirs 26 and carried by lines 27 through heater 28 and magnetically operable valve 29 to a source of compressed air, not shown, thus atomising the solutions and spraying the same areas of web. The station 15 may also contain two further jets for liquids and one jet for hot air for drying the web. The valve 29 is controlled by a cam switch system 31 described in Specification 814, 080 [Group XX]. Specification 814, 079 also is referred to.
