In a tracked vehicle, an air cushion 22 is generated between the lower run of each track 15 and a generating device 18 by the formation of a fluid curtain 28 generated by generator 20. As shown in Fig. 2, each track may be troughshaped and separate lateral nozzles 31, 32 and 33, 34 provided to generate lateral cushions to resist side loads. An injector device (Fig. 3, not shown) is described for generating the primary air cushion.
