982,770. Warp let-off mechanisms. T. HINDLE, and D. D. BANKS. Feb. 22, 1961 [Feb. 25,1960], No. 6581/60. Heading D1E . A warp beam 10 is driven in either direction, independently of the loom, by an electric motor, clutch and brake, actuated by a horizontally movable back rest 12. Variation of warp tension moves the back rest 12 to pivot levers 21, move rods 23, pivot bell cranks 24 and move a rod 25 connected to each bell crank 24. The extremity 25a, of the lever 25, is arranged to pivot three levers 32a, 33a and 34a, on a shaft 35, the lever 32a starting the warp beam drive, the lever 33a stopping the drive and the lever 34a reversing the drive. To prevent "hunting" of the drive during beat-up (Fig. 7, not shown) a hydraulic system is provided to lock the shaft 25 against rotation. For long warp beams a drive may be provided at both sides of the loom. Specification 982, 769 is referred to.
