981,731. Sawtooth circuits. PHILIPS ELECTRONIC & ASSOCIATED INDUSTRIES Ltd. July 10, 1962 [July 13, 1961], No. 26494/62. Headings H3P and H3T. In a sawtooth current generator, the flyback pulses are fed via an adjustable impedance to a voltage dependent resistor, the resulting direct voltage being used to control the sawtooth amplitude. As shown, a line output stage for television apparatus comprises a valve or transistor 1 driven by a sawtooth waveform 2 so as to feed a sawtooth current via a transformer 8 to deflection coils 10. An efficiency diode circuit 6, 9 is provided. The positive flyback pulses are fed via a blocking capacitor 15 and a variable resistor 14 to a voltage-dependent resistor 16 which provides a negative amplitude-stabilizing voltage for valve 1 as described in Specification 890,805. Resistor 16 is biased from the boosted H.T. via resistor 18. This resistor may alternatively be connected across capacitor 15. Resistor 14 is adjusted to compensate for tolerances in resistor 16.
