Abstract

987,472. Transistor sawtooth circuits. FERNSEH G.m.b.H. June 13, 1962 [June 14, 1961], No. 22685/62. Heading H3T. A circuit for generating a train of impulses having rectangular and sawtooth components comprises a first transistor T 1 switched on by rectangular driving impulses F and a sawtooth generator S driven by the same impulses, the output signals from the two circuits being fed to a resistive load 2 via transformer 22 such that the transistor T, and generator S are matched to the load. As described a train of rectangular pulses E are fed through an amplifier comprising transistors 9, 13 to the bases of transistors T 1 , 21, and the output B from transistor T 1 is fed to a tapping on the secondary winding 22<SP>1</SP> of transformer 22. The collector of transistor 21 is connected to a capacitor 24 which charges and discharges as transistor 21 is switched off and on, producing a sawtooth waveform G at the tapping on the load inductor 25, which is fed via transistor T 2 to the primary 22<SP>11</SP> of transformer 22. The turns ratio of the transformer windings is made to match the transistors to the load 2 which comprises the deflection coils 3, the load being made resistive by the addition of capacitor 6 and resistors 4, 5. In a modification, Fig. 2 (not shown), the transistors are connected to separate windings of the transformer 22.
