[Also in Division H2] An electric bar conductor is fixed inside a metallic sheath by means of insulators, positioned in openings in the sheath through which they may be withdrawn. The insulators a, b, c, d support a conductor 2, which may be two U- shaped interconnected members, by means of spring-urged shoes C, carried by a ball-joint C 3 on insulator member B. The insulators a, b, c, d are mounted on flanges A, and may be withdrawn through the sheath openings. Similar insulator sets are arranged at intervals along the sheath and at least one of these sets is blocked by means of stops T 1 , so that the longitudinal thermal expansion of the bar takes place relative to this point. The sheath is mounted slidably on insulators such as 6, fixed with respect to at . least one insulator 5.
