[Also in Division Fl] In a radial-flow pump with a bellows-like sealing element seated on and rotating with a shaft which drives the impeller and is led into an impeller housing through a partition, the sealing element, by reason of its own axial resiliency, is supported at one end against a flat, radially extending boundary surface of the impeller and at the other end against a non- metallic sealing body mounted on the partition, against which sealing body the sealing element slides. In the pump shown in Fig. 3 a sealing member 48, Figs 3 and 8, of, say, polytetrafluoroethylene extends between the impeller and a stationary sealing ring 26, the right-hand portion 50<SP>1</SP> of its bore fitting snugly on the sleeve 36. The sealing member 48 is made resilient by the provision of a bellows-like convolution 53. Sealing ring 26 is of ceramic, sintered carbon or polished glass and is carried by a sealing ring 25 of plastics material which in turn is carried by a cup-like portion 24 of the partition 14. A sealing ring 54 is compressed between the sleeve 36 and a conical slinger ring 55 on the shaft 12. Water droplets leaking through the seals are thrown out by the slinger ring 55 and are discharged through ventilation holes 56.
