Abstract
976,437. Holders for textile yarn packages. SINGER-COBBLE Inc. Aug. 14, 1962, No. 31058/62. Heading D1J. A holder for a yarn package comprises a plurality of L- or J- shaped arms 7 pivoted to a central boss 1 as shown in Fig. 2, the boss 1 being apertured at 3 so that it can be placed on a supporting rod 4 and secured thereon by means such as a screw 5. Each arm 7 makes at least two points of contact against the interior of the core with relief between those points of contact. Fig. 4 illustrates a cylindrical core 14 supported by the holder, the arms having parts 16 that engage the supporting rod 4. Fig. 5 illustrates one size of conical core 14 supported by the holder. The upper ends of the limbs are formed with an outwardly-directed hook or point to bite into the core.
