Abstract
975,983. Transducers. BLAUPUNKTWERKE G.m.b.H. May 30, 1962 [July 1, 1961], No. 20727/62. Heading H4J. In a method of constructing the magnet system of a moving coil-type transducer, a mild steel core 2 (Fig. 1), is attached to a mild steel plate 1 and a centering ring 3 is then slid on to the end of the core, thereafter an annular, permanent magnet 4 is secured to plate 1 and an apertured mild steel plate 6 is secured to the magnet, finally ring 3 is pushed along the core to leave an air gap between the core and the plate 6 (Fig. 2, not shown). The ring is retained in the system by means of a bead and groove 11 and 10 or by means of an increased diameter of core at the lower end thereof which results in a forced fit. The plates 1 and 6 are secured to the magnet by an adhesive, e.g. an ethoxylene resin and the ring is made of synthetic resin such as a polypropylene or a polycarbonate. The centering ring may be of channel section (Fig. 5) in which case the inner edge 12 thereof is pushed down the core after plate 6 has been properly orientated with respect to the core, the outer edge remaining wedged between the magnet and plate 6.
