Abstract

975,875. Rotary elevators. ANDERTON SPRINGS Ltd. May 29, 1963, No. 21442/63. Addition to 895,871. Heading B8A. The method of subjecting circlips and like articles to liquid immersion by use of an elevated wheel as described in the parent Specification is modified by the use of a liquid of such a nature that the articles will adhere to the rim of the elevating wheel and by providing means to break the adhesion at the top of the articles' travel. The wheel comprises a channelsection rim 2 of perforated material to which are secured circumferential rails 3. The latter are supported by wheels 4, at least one of which is driven to rotate the wheel. The articles are fed from a source 6 via a shoot 7 into the liquid 9 in bath 8, picked up by the wheel-rim 2 to which they adhere, and subsequently detached from the rim by means 10 situated over a discharge shoot 11. The preferred form of the means 10 is a liquid spray, the sprayed liquid being discharged with the articles on shoot 11 to avoid contamination of the bath 8.
