Thermoplastic material is coated onto tiles or the like to protect the glazing by means of driven wheels a as the tiles are carried over the bath of thermoplastic material by means of a conveyor A'. The bath is provided with a thermostatically controlled heater element and the wheels are adjustably positioned on their driving shaft.
