Abstract

974,792. Conduits. HONEYWELL Inc. Oct. 21, 1963 [Oct. 19, 1962], No. 41517/63. Heading F2P. [Also in Divisions B8 and H1] Transmission members such as pneumatic tubes or electric cables are provided with a series of marks which is repeated at intervals along the length of the member, thus enabling the length of the member to be so cut as to display the same mark at both extremities. Fig. 2 shows three pneumatic tubes in a conduit 23, each tube having repeated along its length the letters A-G and the numerals 1-0. The top tube has been so cut that its extremities both display the number 9, the second the number 2 and the third the letter B. The three indications together identify the conduit 23. In the cable arrangement described with reference to Fig. 3 (not shown) the numerals and letters are replaced by coloured bands.
