Abstract

974,277. Press-button retractive switches; indicators for switches. BROOKHIRST IGRANIC Ltd. May 8, 1962 [July 24, 1961], No. 17633/62. Heading H2B. A press-button assembly 10, a transformer 14 and a double-switch unit 16 are secured together by screws 34 in the switch casing engaging internally threaded beads 38 of screws 35 in the transformer housing, which in turn are engaged in threaded holes 70 in a flange 72 of the button housing 20. The button comprises a translucent plastic lens 76 in a holder 74 slidably carried in the housing 20 with sealing rings 78, 80 and retracting spring 90. Two projections (Fig. 5, not shown) at the lower edge of lens holder 74 engage grooves (not shown) in the housing 20 to prevent the button rotating. This ensures that two dependent pins 86 are aligned with pusher pins 64, freely slidable in holes 66 moulded in the transformer housing, and themselves aligned with switch actuating buttons 28, respectively. The transformer housing includes a lamp base 54 for an indicator lamp 60 connected to the transformer secondary winding. If desired, a further switch unit may be attached below the first (Fig. 4, not shown).
