An information display device comprises a box which houses a line of information carrying members which may each be located at a desired but variable position longitudinally across the face of the box, gaps in between the members and between the members and box sides being screened by movable covers. The device may be used for example, for railway or aircraft departure indicators. The information display devices may be of the electrically operated rotatable flap type, Fig. 1f, Figs. 2a-c, as described in Specification 939,069 and may be located in a desired longitudinal position in a box Fig. 11 which comprises top, bottom and side walls 34-37 of ribbed formation as shown in Fig. 3. The back member 38, Fig. 6, is of channel formation and is sprung into position between the opposite ribs A1 of base 5 and the box is assembled by use of metal brackets and plates 10, 11 and screws 12. The front of the box is shaped to provide a fixing for the cover members or spaces 24 which have channel-shaped upper and lower edges and are resilient so that they may be moved longitudinally to cover, for example, spaces between the information bearing members 4. In order to locate the members 4 in desired positions, slidable clips 13 are provided. Fig. 7, to engage with ribs on the base of the box, and on each clip is mounted a socket 18 so that when a clip 13 has been positioned in a desired longitudinal position on the ribs A5, A13, an information bearing element 4 may be inserted through the front opening of the box so that the plate 1, Fig. 2b slides along edge 22 of clip 13, and the locating pin 21, and plug 20 Fig, 9, engage with the hole 16 and socket 18. The plug and socket serve also to provide a power supply to actuate the electric motor of the members 4.
