Abstract
973,346. Mounting heating resistances in electric furnaces. ZAVODY ELEKTROTEPELNYCH ZARIZENI N.P. (ZEZ). Feb. 27, 1961 [Feb. 26, 1960], No. 7136/61. Heading H5H. An industrial electric furnace comprises fixing hooks for supporting the heating elements 1, wherein the hooks are so designed as to provide a space bounded by mutually upwardly divergent lateral surfaces adapted either (a) to carry between longitudinally opposed hooks, two support ledges 2 of ribbed cross-section presenting longitudinally and mutually inclined surfaces defining a channel flanked by these surfaces, and heating spirals located within the channels to be supported by point contact with the longitudinal surfaces, or (b) to support by point contact heating coils wound on refractory tubes 12. The ledges 4 may be provided with longitudinal openings to prevent overheating of the spirals. The heating elements may be made of an ion-aluminium alloy, and be of from 18-35 mm. outside diameter.
