Abstract
973,264. Folding adjustable tables. AMERICAN MANUFACTURING CO. Inc. March 19, 1963, No. 10834/63. Headings A4H and A4W. [Also in Division B4] A vertically adjustable table includes a thrust linkage, comprising one bent link 4, 5 and one straight link 3 pivoted together, a fluid pressure piston and cylinder actuator 20 pivoted to the base and to the bent link 4, 5 and stabilizing means comprising crossed links 10, 14 with rollers 12, 17 sliding in channels 13, 1. The actuator 20 and link 3 are pivoted at spaced positions on link 4, 5, with either actuator 20 at pivot 23 and link 3 at pivot 7 (Fig. 1), or vice versa (Fig. 6). A motor 22 and pump 21, are operated by pedals 25, 26 to supply fluid from reservoir 24 to and from the actuator 20. The table is thus adjusted and is automatically supported in the adjusted position by the fluid pressure. The table can be lowered into a folded position until the links 3, 5 are almost horizontal and fingers 19 contact end bars 2.
