Abstract

Pharmaceutical compositions for the treatment of mental diseases comprise a carrier and a compound of general formula <FORM:0972998/A5-A6/1> wherein X represents an alkoxy group of 1 or 2 carbon atoms and Y represents a hydrogen atom or an alkoxy group of 1 or 2 carbon atoms. They may be in conventional forms suitable for oral and parenteral administration and may optionally also comprise tranquilizers, e.g. reserpine, chlorpromazine, meprobamate and ectylurea; psychic energizers, e.g. methylphenidate hydrochloride and a -ethyltryptamine acetate; antispasmodics, e.g. methscopolamine bromide and propantheline bromide; sedatives, e.g. phenobarbitol and methyprylon; hypotensive agents, e.g. phenoxybenzamine hydrochloride; anti-arthritic agents, e.g. methylprednisolone and muscle relaxants, e.g. chlorzoxazone, corisprodol and phenaglycodol.
