Abstract
972,410. Selective retrieval storage systems. ELECTROLUX A.B. Nov. 9, 1962 [Nov 10, 1961], No. 42363/62. Heading B8E. A storage system of the kind in which goods are stored on movable intercoupled trolleys which may be separated into two groups by breaking one of the couplings, the two groups then being moved apart to provide an entry space between them, is characterized by the means for moving the trolleys. This means comprises an electric motor which is mounted on one of the trolleys t, the other trolleys a to s being motorless but fitted with control cables which are connected to means for controlling the motor on trolley t, so that the latter's movements may be controlled from any of the other trolleys. The control cables terminate in switches 24, 25, 26 on each trolley a to s for effecting leftward movement, rightward movement and emergency stop respectively of the motorized trolley t. All the trolleys have handles 28, Fig. 4, by which their couplings may be broken. The motor on trolley t rotates a sprocket 2Q which may engage directly, as in Fig. 3 (not shown), a fixed chain 17 or, as in Fig. 4, may have the chain 17 passed over it and under two idler wheels 21, 22.
