971,769. Bakery apparatus. AMF-DEN BOER N.V. May 2, 1962 [May 4, 1961], No. 16921/62. Heading A2A. In a device for automatically transferring rusk cups from a first bake plate to an inverted position on a second bake plate, a roller conveyer 19 feeds a bake plate 20 carrying rusk cups 21 on to a roller-carrying frame 12 in which position it underlies a second bake plate 22 pressed against stop members 14 by a further roller carrying frame 11. The whole sandwich assembly is then rotated through 180 degrees effecting transference of the rusk cups on to bake plate 22 which is then pushed off frame 11 (now the lowermost frame) on to a roller conveyer 23 leading to an oven. A second device can operate after baking to bring the cups back to an open-side up position. The roller-frames 11, 12 are mounted on shields 8, 9 urged away from each other by springs 10. Rollers 15, 16 on the shields are guided in a track 17 which is depressed at 18 to allow slight separation of the frames to permit loading and unloading. The shields 8, 9 are mounted on square end wall 2 inter-connected by angles 3 and rotated about centre shaft members 4 by a gear drive mechanism (Fig 2 not shown).
