970,771. Zip fastener tapes. A. PLATZER. Dec. 23, 1960, No. 44321/60. Heading D1K. [Also in Division E2] A zip fastener tape having a flap 4 for sewing to a garment, a flap 7 to carry the fastener elements, and flaps 5, 6 to cover the elements, is woven with the flap 6 lying against the flap 4; the weft traverses the flaps in the order I, II, III, IV. The cover flaps are afterwards moulded to produce creases 14, 16, Fig. 2, which prestress the parts 8, 9 so that they rest against the fastener elements 10. The weft may be monofil or highly twisted yarn of nylon, or the warp threads at the creases 14, 16 may be thermoplastic.
