[Also in Division B5] A compression moulded button 10, of synthetic resin condensation product e.g. phenolic, urea, melamine or polyester, has a surface 11 embossed with the pattern of a fabric or particulated material e.g. cork or sawdust, impressed through an interposed strippable barrier layer during the moulding process (see Division B5). Fine or coarse weave, woven or knitted or lace fabric patterns may be embossed. A shank button may be produced or sew through buttons, of the type described in Specification 660,471, which are simultaneously embossed on both surfaces. Specification 920,451 and U.S.A. Specification 2,643,983 also are referred to.
