Abstract

967,276. Stays; spring clips. REGIE NATIONALE DES USINES RENAULT. May 17, 1961 [June 24, 1960], No. 17981/61. Headings E2B and E2F. A vehicle door stay comprises an arm in the form of a spring clip pivoted at 10 on the door in the fillister of the latter and co-operating with a pin 12 fixed on the door post 1, the pin being engaged between the arms 8, 9 of the clip and being adapted, as the door approaches its fully open position, to move the limbs apart, thereby checking the movement of the door, and to enter a loop 17 formed at the extremity of one of the limbs to hold the door open. The distance between the limbs may be chosen so that the arm always grips the pin 12 thereby preventing vibrations. Preferably the clip is made from a steel blade and the pin 12 from self-lubricating plastics material.
