965,904. Yarn feeding devices for knitting machines. D. L. MUNDEN. Dec. 15,1960 [Sept. 16, 1959], No. 31531/59. Heading D1C. A yarn feeding device comprises a cone 2 rotatable from the machine at various speeds and a yarn guide 6 which is adjustable along a calibrated rod 7 so that a yarn Y, fed through the guide and around the cone, is forwarded at a constant adjustable rate. A device may be supplied for each station of a multi-feeder machine and the device (Fig. 3, not shown) may have two commonly driven cones and separately variable yarn guides. Each device may feed the yarn at a different rate and the surface of the cone may be covered with a yarn gripping material.
