965,731. Electromechanical filters. SIEMENS & HALSKE A.G. Sept. 19, 1962 [Sept. 22, 1961], No. 35623/62. Heading H3U. An electromechanical filter comprises coupled flexural oscillators 1, 2 supported within a container 7 by members 9, 9<SP>1</SP>, 10, 10<SP>1</SP> which are attached to nodal points on the oscillators and extend along the nodal lines A, A<SP>1</SP> and B, B<SP>1</SP> in such a manner that they are subject to torsional loads only. The oscillators are associated with electrostrictive transducers 5, 6 and coupled to each other by metal wires 3, 4 lying beyond the nodal lines. The support members may be one-quarter wavelength or an odd multiple of a quarter wavelength in length. They may be bent or looped, e.g. in the manner indicated in Fig. 2. The filter may be provided with resonators intermediate the input and output oscillators.
