Abstract

964,862. Opening containers. COTY Inc. Jan. 30, 1963 [Oct. 11, 1962], No. 3895/63. Headings B8C and B8D. A face powder box 10 has the powder contained below a seal 13 on which rests a tapered annular band 20, with a cutter 21 and a planar fabric mesh 25. To obtain access to the powder the seal 13 is removed by pressing and rotating the band 20 by means of lateral projections 27 so that the cutter 21 pierces the seal and cuts it around its rim. The mesh 25 is gripped at its edge between the band 20 and a band 26, and serves as a sifter for powder, and a rest for a powder puff.
