Abstract
963,934. Measuring fluid pressure electrically. YAO TZU LI. June 15, 1962 [June 21, 1961], No. 23203/62. Heading G1N. Two coaxial hollow members 14, 16, welded together at their upper ends and free for relative longitudinal movement at their lower ends, at which lower end the member 14 is secured to a frame 10, bear strain gauges 24, 26 and 20, 22 connected in a bridge circuit to sense the compression of member 16 and extension of member 14 when a fluid pressure, to be measured, is transmitted by a thin sealing diaphragm 32 to the closed lower end 18 of inner member 16. The annular space 36 between the members is sealed at its lower end by an O-ring 30 and is filled with a damping material 36. To the frame 10 is fixed to a sleeve 12, externally threaded for screwing into a vessel containing the fluid the pressure of which is to be measured.
